 Justin McClellan, Principal

Justin McClellan is an entrepreneurial operator, advisor, and consultant specializing in aerospace, autonomy, automotive, and AI technologies. His expertise covers business development, technology strategy, marketing, and finance. He has 15 years of interdisciplinary experience optimizing product-market fit and commercializing drones, satellites, sensors and data analytics.

McClellan spent the first part of his career in aerospace R&D designing, and managing the development of spacecraft, constellations, and drones. He has published journal papers on the optimization of spacecraft, aircraft, constellations, and aircraft operations. After earning his MBA, Justin refocused on business development. He emphasized minimum-viable-product off-ramps, go-to-market strategies, and commercialization, increasing his firms win percentages on government technology grants.

Co-founder of a drone-as-a-service company, McClellan established an MVP features, built out a business model, and executed a go-to-market strategy enabling strong recurring revenue growth in 2016 and 2017. A lean marketing plan to build up drones into the hottest topic in the vertical. Industry leaders came to the companies door,  culminating in a strategic venture investment. As the company grew, Justin established a sales process and hired a team to expand customer base across US and Canada.

Recently Justin has expanded his expertise to include the vehicle electrification industry. Supporting a pre-revenue startup, he structured services and product offerings, approached potential customers, and structured contracts with top automotive, heavy truck, aerospace, and robotics clients. As traction built, McClellan engaged major OEMs and Tier 1s in automotive space.

McClellan has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and an M.B.A. from Boston University.
